- 1 known grant, through Nov 2027
What they work on
- Advance the scientific agenda of the HIV Prevention Trials Network (HPTN) by developing new research concepts and taking part in network prevention protocols, committees and working groups.
- Engage communities served by the clinical research sites through education, outreach and support for community advisory boards, which bring local residents into the research process.
- Support core site functions, including laboratory, pharmacy, regulatory, data management and quality assurance, to enable strong enrollment and retention of trial participants.
More about the research
In the United States, the yearly number of new infections has stayed roughly flat instead of falling. Preventing infection in the communities at highest risk is one of the main remaining challenges in the HIV response.
Why it matters
This work could help protect people at high risk for HIV from becoming infected by testing prevention tools and strategies tailored to their communities. Running well-organized, community-engaged prevention trials may help reduce new infections, which have not declined as hoped in the United States, and support long, healthy lives for those most at risk.
Known grants
From NIH and NSF research grants. Labs often have other funding we can't see.
